Nenda is part of the Four Valleys ski area (4 Vallees), one of the largest in Switzerland, combining also the resorts of Verbier, Chion and Veysonne. There are more than 410 km of tracks and 8 ski areas, so the first thing to be taken care of when arriving in Nenda is a map of the tracks and a ski pass. The four Valleys are divided into two main skiing areas – Printse, which includes Nenda, Siviere, Veyzonna and Tion (only 220 km of tracks), and Verbier, including Verbier itself, Monfort, La Tzumu and Brysuon.

You can buy a ski pass to one of the skiing zones or a common one, to all the Four Valleys (355 francs – 6 days in the Four Valleys and 274 francs – 6 days in Printse, you can find out more about the cost of the ski passes here). For beginners and intermediate-level skiers / snowboarders, who come to rest in Néndou, there is enough Printse home skiing area, but freeride experts and fans will probably need a skipass to all the Four Valleys, including the legendary Monfort (3330 m) – the top point the whole region.

Four Valleys throughout the world are considered one of the places of worship for freeride and the possibilities for off-piste skiing are quite comparable to 400+ km of marked and prepared tracks. Therefore, a reminder that it is necessary to be adequately equipped, to be able to use avalanche equipment and to monitor the avalanche situation at the resort will not be superfluous. Observing these basic safety rules, you can get a lot of impressions and great pleasure from skiing, especially since there are many relatively safe freeride routes in the Nenda area.

The “home” gondola starts right from Nenda to Traket (Traсouet, 2200 m). This is the center of all kinds of activities for adults and children (a fan park, a snow park, playgrounds, a restaurant, etc.) and a cozy place where it is pleasant to come back after descents to relax and unwind. Also, there are slides and lifts for very beginners.

From the Trachek several tracks leave. Back to the lower station of the gondola is red. Approximately to the middle, parallel to it is a rope tow, which can be used not to move as far as Nenda itself. Trails along the yoke are wide, with a decent bias and always well prepared. There is also a short rope tow on the shoulder of Dent De Nendaz, from where a simple blue ski or cross-country track will lead you back. Also from here you can get to the northern circus above Nenda, suitable for off-piste.

Almost under the gondola there is a perfectly prepared snow park with its own lift. The park has a lot of shapes and rails of varying difficulty, always in excellent condition. To the right of the gondola goes a good, sports red trail to the Prarion (Prarion) with its chairlift. Its main charm, however, lies in the fact that almost all along the left and right of the chair there is a beautiful rare forest with huge larch trees – an ideal place for skiing in fresh snow, unique to all the Four Valleys.

From Prarion with the help of a ski lift, and then the gondola can be climbed to the Plan du Fou. Be careful: with Plan du Fu there are no prepared trails for descending to Nenda, only markings denoting an off-piste zone are almost always a big incline and bumps. If you are lucky and you climb Plan du Fut right after the snowfall, then the descent to the Prarion will be just fantastic.

On the other hand, the Siviez ski area begins. With Plan du Fou, an interesting red trail leads there, but after a snowfall there is an opportunity to ride on virgin soil, right under the tow bar and chair lift. Hold under the chair and do not drive into the forest on your left hand, there are rocks and windbreaks. At the top of the Plan du Foube do not forget to visit a small cafe with a beautiful view of the entire “top floor” of the Four Valleys skiing region.

Sivez itself is a large station, from where you can get to Verbier and Montfort, Tion and Vezonne, as well as home to Nenda. If you do not have time for the lifts to return home through the Plan and the Trachek or are just tired, you can take the free shuttle bus to Nenda. It runs every 20 minutes, travel time is 7-10 minutes, the final stop is the lower station of the gondola.

From Siviez, in addition to the lift to the Plan, there is a wheelchair and a long bow on the opposite mountain Greppon Blanc. From the wheelchair to Civiez there is a very fast red track, which is often crowded – be careful! The upper part of this mountain is a light off-piste zone with great potential + transit to Vezonna and beyond.
